Climate Scenarios for Romania 2030 Report

On September 21 and 22, 2022, the largest foresight exercise in Romania took place at Victoria Palace: Romania 2030 Climate Scenarios. The working sessions were centered around the impact of climate change in Romania until 2030 and brought together over 160 key representatives of the public, private, civic and academic systems.

Each session had the structure of a moderated working group in which participants collaborated to develop scenarios and identify challenges, opportunities and solutions. The conclusions of the sessions are found in this report, which serves as a means to promote scalable examples of good practice and to raise awareness of the most likely scenarios, and of the solutions applicable in each of the areas addressed, for decision-makers, businesses and civil society.

Climate Scenarios

Romania 2030 Climate Scenarios is a Climate Change Summit side event. It takes place on September 21 and 22 at Victoria Palace, Bucharest. Its 8 foresight working sessions on climate change in Romania will bring together over 120 key representatives of the public, private, civic and academic systems.

Objectives:

01.

Development of 16 scenarios for each of the 8 working themes.

02.

Identifying main challenges for the most likely scenarios, as well as for the preferable scenarios.

03.

Identifying the solutions to the most probable challenges of the next 8 years.

Romania 2030 Climate Scenarios

Foresight sessions:

Each session will have the structure of a moderated working session using foresight methodologies developed by Solutions. Participants collaborate to develop scenarios and identify challenges, opportunities and roadmaps. Each working group consists of 15-20 participants, and the conversations are informal and closed-door.
