Climate Change Summit is the largest event in Central and Eastern Europe, dedicated to exploring and promoting innovative solutions to tackle the climate change challenges that define both our present and future. In 2026, the Summit arrives at a decisive juncture: as geopolitical and economic shifts redefine the link between climate action, security, and competitiveness, building resilient infrastructure becomes both a strategic necessity and a defining opportunity for societies to build more sustainable futures.
The Climate Change Summit Week 2026 will take place on October 13 – 17, 2026, in Bucharest, with its main day (October 14) hosted at the Palace of the Parliament, and additional side & community events extending across multiple locations in Romania. This expanded format ensures that the Summit’s powerful discussions and actionable solutions reach an even wider audience, emphasizing national collaboration.
This year’s summit, centered on the theme “Infrastructures of our Future” promises a dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to climate action, blending inspiration, education, and actionable solutions. Through keynotes, roundtables, workshops and networking sessions, participants will explore the systems that underpin the transition to energy security, the new industrial and food economy, nature as critical infrastructure, technology and AI, and the finance, governance, and leadership needed to make it all work.
An exclusive day of private meetings, curated breakfasts, and speaker dinners, centered on strategy and the future of the transition. Business leaders, entrepreneurs and experts will come together across Bucharest to explore how sustainability translates into competitiveness, resilience, and long-term opportunity.
The main event of the week will take place in the iconic Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. This day will feature keynotes and high-level conversations on the infrastructure shaping the region’s transition, from energy security and competitiveness to nature, technology, and finance. It will also host a dedicated roundtable program, including business roundtables on OECD accession and sustainable finance, a policy roundtable and a green infrastructure roundtable on integrating natural capital into Europe’s economic planning. The day concludes with the launch of the State of the Climate 2026 report.
This day sits at the intersection of business and technology, bringing together researchers, investors, startups, and corporates to explore how innovation and entrepreneurship can drive real climate solutions. Hosted across hubs, universities and research institutes, activities will span panels and active networking designed to connect business, science, and capital.
Nature is infrastructure for ecosystems and cities alike. This day connects forest restoration, water protection, and urban resilience in a shared conversation, through workshops, talks, and guided visits in natural parks and conservation areas.
The final day will offer the social infrastructure of the transition, this day connects sustainability with wellbeing, community, and lifestyle choices. Sessions take place in public parks, coffee shops and cultural spaces around Bucharest. Workshops will explore topics such as yoga, bike culture, running, slow fashion, and art.
Climate Change Summit Week will provide a platform for cross-sector collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovative solutions. It is a must-attend event for business leaders, policymakers, NGOs, and activists committed to creating a sustainable future.
